Week of Aug. 18

The fifth graders jumped in quickly to orient to the new year with procedures, expectations, and fun games. We enjoyed getting to know one another better through All About Me Kingdoms, Common Towers, and Match Up Challenge. Starting class at Matt Knoop on Wednesday was a fun way to introduce our math chapter on numbers to one billion. The scholars presented their "Math is Everywhere" projects, which also helped us learn more about them. We had some great discussions and student modeling on doing what is right and good, especially in how we solve conflict. I am impressed with their participation, especially in speaking Latin, and in how quickly they can follow procedures. Have a wonderful weekend!!
