Applauding Scholar Presentations
I enjoyed all of the book report presentations this week. Every scholar did an excellent job, and there were many great questions about books from the audience. Multiple students recommended the books they read to their friends. Witnessing a love of reading, having student dialogue about books, and working on presentation skills are all so valuable, and I applaud each fifth grader for his or her contribution during presentations. And thank you, parents, for providing for our snack mix which made the presentation day feel more special.
October is the month where scholars do the historical hero project as their book report. We will choose our heroes next week! Thursday, October 23rd will be the Hall of Heroes presentation afternoon at Telos. This event is just like a wax museum where scholars will be dressed as their historical heroes and will be giving information in the first person about who they are. It is one of my favorite events!
