Week of Jan. 12

Mr. Heise

Schole and Restful Learning

We had a quiet week and the students are settling into the semester. The work from last year to make our portable unit into a homey classroom is paying off. The room feels focused and efficient, and our routine is exactly the same every day. This has freed up a lot of class time to go deeper into our content and you can feel the change in the kids—there's a quiet confidence and space for curiosity. Big thanks to staff and teachers, parents, folks on the board, students, etc. who showed up every week last semester to help build, decorate, and troubleshoot all the HVAC and tech issues! It is paying off and restful learning is taking root. Now the goal is simple—don't change a thing!—double down on what we've built and iterate the same calm habits for the next 17 weeks.
