Student-Created Jeopardy Games Wrap Up the Science Year

Physics and earth science are wrapping up the school year with student-designed Jeopardy! games. Working in pairs, students developed six categories featuring cumulative topics from throughout the year. Along the way, they practiced the art of crafting clever, answer-based prompts and had fun trying to stump their classmates. These game days have brought excitement to the classroom and offered a welcome break from the rigor of the academic year.

As the school year draws to a close, physics students are preparing for final exams next week, while earth science scholars are looking forward to an upcoming field trip to explore Timpanogos Cave National Monument. In anticipation of our cave tour, test your own knowledge of the science behind cavern formation with this Jeopardy-style prompt:

Acidic water dissolves this type of rock underground, creating caves and caverns.

What is ____________?

(Answer: limestone!)
