Caterpillars and math journals!
We had another successful week in 4th grade! The students tried a math journal activity for the first time. I wasn't sure how it would go... and I was thrilled with their responses! I asked them to write about a time they used math in their lives or, if they couldn't think of anything, to look around them and see examples of math. It was amazing to hear their answers! Some wrote about times they used math in a store, while others shared shapes and angles they could see in our room. One student came up with her own math problems to solve. They were all different and awesome to hear.
Our week finished with a cup of caterpillars that we will (hopefully) be able to watch grow into Painted Lady butterflies.
Enjoy the long weekend!
