Butterflies, Headbands and Potage
We began week 5 with a goodbye to our butterflies. After seeing all 5 of them emerge successfully from their chrysalides, we gave them their freedom on the flower planters out in front of the building. How amazing to see God's creative hand that way!
To practice our spelling words this week, we played a form of spelling Headbands. Each student wore the red headband, with a spelling word on the top that they couldn't see. They had to ask questions about what type of speech the words were, what letters might be in it and what it might mean. I think the students enjoyed it!
In History we sampled another food that peasants would have eaten...potage (which is really just vegetable soup). As they ate, the students listened to music that would have been played in the Middle Ages.
We also got some additional math, Latin, and recitation practice working with partners. A new math game called Tiguous got some playing time, as well as 2 old favorites, SNAKE and Coin Chain. All easy to learn and play as a family!
Have a great weekend!
