Week of Oct. 27

Mrs. Ni

Septum Dies (7 Days)

The Kindergarten class has been steadily working on our phonics and have reviewed all of our vowels. This means that we can spend time practicing blending many different sounds to make Consonant-Vowel-Consonant or CVC words. The students started using word family books to practice fluency. They thought it was really fun!

A highlight this week was being taught the days of the week in Latin. Several 5th grade students came to lead the K-2 classes in learning the days of the week song in Latin. It was also fascinating to discover that the Latin names related to the moon, sun, and planets. The older grades at Telos participate in immersive Latin so it’s wonderful to incorporate a bit of familiarity even for our younger learners. Hopefully by Christmas break, your children will be very familiar with this song and can sing it for you!
