A Week Filled with Learning and Gratitude
We had a wonderful week in first grade! The students did great on their spelling test and really enjoyed our phonics games. In Language Arts, we are reading Frog and Toad Are Friends, building our challenge words, and learning how to use quotation marks. In grammar, we continued our study of the eight parts of speech and learned about verbs today.
This week we also celebrated Veterans Day, learned about tornadoes and hurricanes, and added to our gratitude chain, which is growing every day. The students love sharing what they’re thankful for, and we’re talking about how to show gratitude to others.
In History, we are studying Native Americans, and during storytime we are reading about Thanksgiving, which has sparked great conversations.
We’re preparing for our Thanksgiving Feast next week, and the students are getting excited for both the celebration and our upcoming break.
