Thanksgiving Blessings!
I am so thankful for such an incredible and sweet class! Our gratitude chain was amazing, and your children wrote the cutest and kindest things. We had a fun-filled and creative week. We connected history, math, language arts, and science as we learned about thunder and lightning and wrapped up our study of Native Americans. We also read several Native American stories, including The Legend of Indian Paintbrush, and had great conversations about the meaningful messages in each story.
Students created pastel sunset art with teepees using symbols to tell a story. We also made parfleche bags and learned how Native Americans used buffalo hide and geometric shapes—perfect as we begin our geometry unit soon.
We ended the week with a K to 2 Thanksgiving feast, where each student read part of the Thanksgiving story, enjoyed a snack, and played charades.
Thank you for sharing your children with me. I go home with a full heart every day. I hope you all have a wonderful Thanksgiving!
