A Wonderful First Week!
What a wonderful first week of first grade! Our classroom has already been full of learning, questions, and lots of movement.
In Phonics, we reviewed our short vowels, and the game Tap It, Map It, Zap It has been such a hit! In Math, we practiced numbers from 0–10, and the kids have been eager to show how much they know.
In History we started learning about the Vikings, with questions like ‘Are they real?’ and ‘What did they do?’ In Science we began exploring Weather, which sparked curiosity when I pulled out our classroom weather station. We also began memorizing our poem, “Story.” Be sure to ask your child to share what they remember. They are so proud of their progress! In Bible, we learned about Jesus welcoming the children.
We can’t wait to see Leon next week! Old friends can’t wait to see him, and new friends can’t wait to meet him.
It has been a wonderful start!
