Capital Field Trip
As we are learning about World War II and the rise of totalitarian nations, we had the opportunity this week to visit the Utah State Capitol and see our representative republic in action.
One of the aims of classical education is to form educated and virtuous citizens. Our founding fathers believed that these were two essential qualities of the citizenry of a nation founded on the premise of natural law - that freedom is a God-given right to every human.
My fervent hope is that our students leave 6th grade with an increased appreciation for our unique American story, as well as the motivation to take up the responsibilities that ensure our freedoms.
