A perfect square day
We celebrated some milestones in this fifth week of school. On Tuesday we joined with the 7th grade to celebrate perfect square day. It was a significant mathematical day, since the date 9/16/25 squares three consecutive numbers, and 2025 itself is also a square number. Students participated in a square number relay, attempted to draw the most accurate square with their eyes closed, created square numbers with different domino combinations, did investigations into other square day possibilities in other months and years, and ate lots of square snacks. Thanks to all who supported this celebration by sending refreshments!

We also finished our first book, Classical Me, Classical Thee, an apologetic for Christian classical education written expressly to high school students. We had rich discussions and many opportunities to examine what makes a classical and Christian education so distinctive. My hope is that students will appreciate the opportunities this education affords them and grow in their responsibility for the learning process.

Next week we have our first assembly and our first round of book reports - both will be on Wednesday. You're invited to join us for this assembly at 8:45 Wednesday morning, or earlier for a great seat!

Have a lovely weekend!
