Week of Sept. 29

Mrs. Sytsma

Golden Spike Field Trip

It's one thing to learn about history in books, but to plant one's feet on the very spot a great historical achievement took place inspires wonder in a human soul.

On Tuesday, our 6-8th grade students visited Golden Spike National Historical Park, site of the completion of the Transcontinental Railroad in 1869. This technological marvel was the 1800's equivalent of the moon landing. Through walking the railroad beds, listening to the docents, and visiting the exhibits, students gained appreciation for the imagination, ingenuity, and fortitude it took to conceive and execute this seemingly impossible project.

At Telos, we labor each day to imbue similar resolve, resilience, and resourcefulness in our students. Who knows what great things these students will accomplish for God's glory and the good of those around them?

Have a lovely long weekend!  Next week we will close out our first quarter of 6th grade!
