Joshua Bartkoske

Upper School Science, Math and Outdoor Education

Dr. Bartkoske was born in Boston, MA before moving overseas to Central Asia where he grew up attending several schools including Tien Shan International School, which reminds him of Telos. Upon graduating there in 2015, he wanted to go as far as possible with his education to be able to give back to K-12 schools like his own. Dr. Bartkoske went to Montana State University, graduating with his B.S. in Physics and minors in Math and China Studies before moving to Utah where he studied Physics at the University of Utah. He graduated from the U in April 2026 with his Ph.D. and is excited to bring his expertise in science and math to Telos teaching Upper School Science, Math, and Outdoor Education.

Dr. Bartkoske is the husband of Susanna, a former nurse manager at Charis Pregnancy Clinic and the father of three beautiful children under three years of age: Elizabeth, Thomas, and Grace. He loves spending time with all of them at home exploring their neighborhood in Cottonwood Heights, reading as many stories to his children as possible, and creating memories outdoors. Some of his favorite activities include leading prayer and worship nights, testing out backpacks, observing the night sky with a telescope, climbing outdoors, and sharing with others the good news of Jesus, the Rescuer we need.

Dr. Bartkoske's favorite part of working with students is seeing them come alive with an understanding of the natural world and discover how they can explore and study it themselves. He is looking forward to being a part of the Telos family this year, getting to serve and know the students and families that come to Telos.
