Dr. Susan Goers

Head of School

Dr. Susan Goers was born, raised, and educated in Western New York State.  Over the past 40 years Dr. Goers has taught in several classical Christian schools. She has opened her own classical Christian schools, run charter schools, taught in public schools, and run large homeschool groups. Among her many accolades is Utah Charter School Educator of the Year 2011. She has taught and launched schools in NY, FL, CO, and UT. Her husband, Ron, is employed by the United States Air Force. They currently live in Ogden. They have three children and ten grandchildren to enjoy. Dr. Goers enjoys camping, hiking, running, paddleboarding, skiing and snowshoeing.

Mr. Keane Bennett

University of San Diego, B.A., Business Administration and Communication Studies.

Educational Experiences Coordinator

Mr. Bennett was born and raised in Southern California and moved to Utah in the summer of 2019 after graduating from the University of San Diego and accepting a position with the University of Utah Utes football program. After two successful seasons he moved on from the Utes and began a career in Real Estate, where he started his own remodeling and property management business. He is thrilled to bring his competitive entrepreneurial mindset and overall passion for child development to Telos Classical Academy.

Ms. Amanda Clark

Utah State University, B.S., Family Consumer and Human Development

Kindergarten and 1st Grade Teacher

Ms. Clark is a Utah native, who has always had a love for learning and teaching early childhood students. She graduated in child development and has experience teaching in both public and charter schools with both pre-K and 1st Grade for the last 7 years. She is excited to bring energy, love and excitement to the classroom here at Telos.

Mrs. Laura Bisbee

Furman University, B.A. Psychology, 2012
American University M.A. International & Intercultural Communications, 2020

2nd Grade Teacher

Ms. Bisbee has always been passionate about inspiring students of all ages to experience wonder and curiosity on an international scale. Originally from Fort Myers, Florida, she earned her BA in Psychology from Furman University in Greenville, South Carolina.  After graduation, she taught English to elementary school students in Southwest China for two years. In 2016, she returned to the United States and earned her Masters at the American University School of International Service in Washington DC, where she studied international education and intercultural exchange. She has taught English and other subjects for five years and hopes to eventually teach in international schools.

Mr. Ethan Looney

University of Utah, B.A., Biology, Minor in Pediatric Clinical Research and Chemistry.

3rd Grade Teacher

Mr. Looney is originally from Boise, Idaho and moved to Salt Lake City to attend the University of Utah. Ethan has worked for Young Life for four years, a non-profit where he mentors junior high and high school students. Ethan also coaches the JV boys soccer team at Park City High School, and is a licensed EMT.

Mrs. Christina Colquitt

Mrs. Christina Colquitt was born and raised in the state of Texas. After college, she spent two years working with university students in Austin, TX and Athens, Greece before beginning her school-teaching career. She has 11 years of teaching experience from Pre-K to 8th grade in public and private schools in Kentucky and Texas.

The greatest joy of teaching is the students, and being a part of their curiosity, connection-making, and camaraderie as they work toward truth and virtue in every aspect of school.

Miss Kirby Feaver

Fresno Pacific University, B.A. Biological Sciences

7th - 8th grade ELA Teacher
4th grade Latin Teacher

Miss Feaver came to Telos Classical Academy after teaching for over 20 years at public and private schools in California, Colorado, and Wyoming. She loves to teach and inspire the curiosity of her students. In her spare time, she enjoys hiking, cycling, reading, and painting with watercolors.

Mrs. Tricia Dill

St. Xavier, B.A., Social Science

3rd - 8th Grade History and
4th - 8th Biblical Studies Teacher

Ms. Tricia grew up in the Chicagoland area and moved to Park City in the summer of 2020.  She earned a B.A. in Social Science with a minor in Secondary Education from St. Xavier University.  She has taught in the Chicago Public School system, worked for a family owned business, and has had a variety of other teaching and volunteering positions with youth.  She has four children and loves spending time with them and her husband in this beautiful area of Utah they now call home.

Mrs. Jane Besch

4th - 8th Grade Science

Mrs. Besch grew up in Wisconsin, raised her children in California and moved to Park City in the spring of 2019.  While much of her career was spent in the petrochemical and consulting businesses, she has taught high school chemistry and honors chemistry at Lutheran High School of Orange County (California).  

She has two adult children, two dogs and loves all things outdoors, such as skiing, hiking, and biking.

Kameron Carpenter

Pepperdine University, B.A., Liberal Arts

Kindergarten - 2nd Grade Biblical Studies

Mrs. Carpenter grew up in Orange County, California where she also lived and worked prior to moving to Utah. She received her B.A.  from Pepperdine University as well as her teaching credential and taught in both public and private Christian elementary schools.

Mrs. Carpenter moved to Summit County in July, 2021. She lives in Oakley with her husband,  4 children and a growing collection of animals.

Mrs. Jacie Sytsma

Calvin University, B.A. in Education and Language Arts

5th-8th grade Latin

Mrs. Jacie Sytsma is a recent transplant to Utah by way of Houston, Texas. She has 20 years of teaching experience in Christian and private schools in Michigan, Washington, New Jersey, and Texas. She has taught students in grades PreK-8 in every classroom subject, including music.

Mrs. Sytsma developed a love for Christian classical education as she witnessed its impact on her two children, both classical school graduates, and has spent the last 13 years of her teaching career catching up on the kind of education she wishes she could have had. She appreciates the way in which classical education forms students through knowledge, reasoning and communication, and, even more importantly, shapes their affections toward what is true, good, and beautiful.

Mrs. Sytsma has been married to her husband Andy, a pastor, for 29 years and enjoys serving in different capacities in their church, including leading worship. She loves travel, especially when it involves history and local cuisine. Some of her most enjoyable moments are spent tending to her garden and large indoor plant collection. She can’t go a day without reading, and loves spending time outdoors in the beautiful state of Utah.
