Mrs. Colquitt

Incredible Fortitude!

The fifth graders enjoyed applying their knowledge of area and conversion to an area paint project. Each group chose a paint color, measured a wall in the room, and determined how many gallons of paint would be needed to cover the room in two coats.

We also finished our reading of The Aeneid, which required fortitude as the story can be difficult to follow. The scholars repeatedly sharpened their summarizing skills by noting main ideas in each chapter.

The students are currently working on essays that compare Emiliy Dickinson's view of hope to biblical hope. Please ask to read your child's rough draft this weekend!
