Mrs. Colquitt
January and upcoming Aeneid feast
Students successfully presented their book reports and gave one another good ideas for next books!
We are almost finished with The Aeneid, which has been a challenging, but engaging read. Please ask your child to show you his or her comic strip about the chapter: The Battle on the Shore.
We played Jeopardy! to review science (birds) and the teams double checked one anothers' final point count by adding and re-adding. This class got the first-ever tie!
We wrapped up our focus on justice by considering what the Bible says about justice and by learning about Aristides the Just. The students related Aristides' story to how they can practice justice in their lives by caring more about what is right and due to others than how they feel.
Upcoming:
February 9th is the Telos Spelling Bee from 2:00-3:00
February 12th is our Valentine party and Aeneid feast. I will be making Tuscan soup, and we will have sourdough bread. Please consider contributing a dessert or a side that goes with soup. The children will also exchange valentines. Thank you!
February 16-20 Ski Week!! (No school)
