Upon returning after the break, my son said he was dreading sitting a lot during the day.
I was reminded of how this is a really big shift and the need for activity during learning is very important after time off. Some ways that I incorporate movement into class are: standing during recitation, movement during learning songs, Muscle Mover (ask your child what this job is), Math and Latin games, freedom to read in places around the room or in the quad, and other games like Race to the Board, Kingdoms, Around the World, and Fruit Salad Toss Up.
All of your children did really well coming back, and I cherish the amiability of our class with one another.
