Week of Dec. 1

Mr. Heise

Line Dancing and Archery

As Christmas starts to peek over the horizon, the students’ excitement is unmatched. The kids are organizing spontaneous line dancing sessions during recess to practice for the upcoming Christmas parties—counting steps, helping each other stay in rhythm. It’s been great to watch them channel their energy into (organized) movement and shared joy.

Very nice to hear them talking about upcoming Christmas parties, family gatherings, and traditions they love. The atmosphere this week was light and festive, with gratitude and celebration just beneath the surface.

This week we moved archery practice to the barn as the weather turns cold and rainy. The students show remarkable accuracy, hitting their targets consistently (and not the custom windows—big sigh of relief). Even more impressive was watching them learn to calm their breathing before each shot—slow inhale, steady exhale, then release.
