Week of March 2

Ms. Holt

Taxidermy Field Trip!

Hi 3rd Grade Families!

The highlight of this week was being able to visit the taxidermy shop and see all of the animals they have! We learned so much about mammal anatomy, taking care of wild animals, and the tools and supplies that a taxidermist uses to do their job. They gave our class a demonstration of how they use clay to mimic the muscles and bones that go around the glass eye. We were all amazed at the art and science skills needed for this job! The students were thrilled to be able to pet all of the different pelts. What a neat way to take what we have been learning in class and be able to experience it all firsthand. God's creation is truly amazing!

We also received a postcard all the way from the Vatican City! Thank you, Gabriel, for thinking of your classmates while on your trip.

Reminders: Wednesday, March 11 is our field trip to the Aquarium! Please ensure your child packs a lunch that does not need to be warmed up.

Thursday, March 12 is our coffeehouse event. You are invited to come and enjoy performances from the students!

Have a blessed weekend!
