Week of Sept. 22

Dr. Marvin

Behold, I am making all things new. Rev 21:5

But in these last days he has spoken to us by his Son, whom he appointed heir of all things, and through whom also he made the universe (Heb 1:2).

Earth Science students have been learning about our vast universe and the elements of the periodic table. We learned that heavy elements are made through the life and death of a star. When a star is dying, intense heat and pressure allow three helium atoms, for example, to fuse and form carbon.  This elemental carbon along with other heavy metals are essential elements for life. Isn’t it amazing how God uses the death of a star to make new and essential things!

This message from creation reminds us that God’s plan in Christ is to make all things new (Rev 21:5). Just as God made helium into carbon, we are made new through Christ.
