Merry Christmas!
We made it to Christmas break, and what a joyful and busy week it has been! Our class had so much fun learning and celebrating together.
We built catapults as a follow-up to our field trip to Discovery Gateway and even took them outside to test and launch them. In math, we worked hard on subtracting within 20 and played several math games to build speed and confidence with our facts. The students were so impressive, especially as they beat their own times and practiced number doubles.
We also read through the entire Advent story from the Jesus Storybook Bible with Kindergarten. Students colored quietly as they listened and reflected, and we created many special ornaments featuring Bible verses to bring home.
We wrapped up our week with a subtraction test, a spelling test on the -le ending, and some cozy class time watching a Christmas movie and enjoying popcorn together.
I will truly miss my students over the break and am so proud of all they’ve accomplished. Wishing you and your family a very Merry Christmas and a wonderful New Year!
