Week of Feb. 2

All aboard! We wrapped up our Columbus unit with a fun classroom party. We tried foods similar to what sailors might have eaten on their journey to the New World. Your kids loved the driest crackers I could find, along with cheddar cheese and almonds. Raisins… not so much! 

We also created maps and had a great time running around the church before our party.  This week, students did an amazing job finishing up R-controlled vowels, strengthening their reading skills, and working on word problems in math. We are getting very speedy with our math facts, too!

It was a great week in first grade!
